Romans 8:37, “Nay, in all of these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”

Becoming a conqueror demands that each Christian takes on the attributes of Jesus Christ. Life is filled with perplexing situations because the devil comes to steal, kill, and to destroy God’s people; therefore, for Christians to live abundantly and be victorious in their lives each one of us must learn how to be a conqueror.

The first thing we must do is remember what Paul said, “we must put on the whole armor of God that we might be be able to withstand the fiery darts of the devil.” Notice the areas that Paul described that we must protect and use to prosper, he talks about the breastplate which is to protect our heart, then the helmet, which is to protect our mind, the next is the shield of faith, which guards our lives from evil, and finally the sword of salvation, which is the word of God that directs us in the way to go.

Becoming a conqueror means knowing who you are and whose you are, sometime we fail to realize that we are God’s children and he protects us and provides for us. A lot of times we fail to receive what God has for us because we’re associating ourselves and surrounding ourselves with things and sometimes people, that do not have the mindset our should I say not the same spiritual level as they should.

There’s a story of a young boy that loved to raise chickens, so walking through the woods one day, he discovered that from a tall tree, an egg had fallen from a nest. The little boy took the egg back home and placed it into a nest with some other eggs that the hen had been sitting on. As the days passed by, all the eggs began to hatch; beautiful little chicks began to emerge; but, one of the chicks was very unusual. The little boy notices that one of them had unusual legs and an unusual neck. As weeks and months went by, the little boy continued to notice that this bird did not act like the others, his legs were strong, his wings were huge, and he grew much faster than the others. One day the little boy’s father came out and looked in the barnyard at all the chickens, while standing there, a strong wind came up and the man noticed that this bird just stretched out his wings and soared with the wind. The man told his son that this is not a chicken, but it’s an eagle; the little boy said to his father he eats like a chicken and acts like all the other chickens act, and he was hatched out in the same nest; his father said, this is an eagle and he does not belong among chickens. So, while the little boy was feeding the chickens on another day, he looked up and saw some more eagles; he then went into the chicken yard, picked up the eagle with tears in his eyes, and said to the eagle, ‘you’re not a chicken, you belong with other eagles’. He turned the eagle loose and the eagle stretched out his wings and began to fly higher and higher, higher and higher, as he climbed into the atmosphere until he caught up with the other eagles. A lot of us, God has called to be eagles, but we have settled to be around chickens in the barnyard.

I challenge each of us, if we are to be victorious and become conquerors, we must learn how to use the tools that God has placed in His kingdom for each of his servants to use. Find you a church that is BIBLE-based, and that is teaching the word of God, commit yourselves to the work of Jesus Christ; put on the whole armor of God and become conquerors through Jesus Christ. For those of you who have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, I recommend that you try His ways and follow His teachings. The way to accept Jesus Christ is in Romans 10:  “confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead and you shall be saved.”
